Five for Friday – Unique Bicycles

Transportation is so important and one might as well look good getting from here to there.  Combine that thought with some creative people and you get creative modes of transportation (you can find more bikes here).  Here are five unique bicycles (plus a bonus for the thirsty):

This person’s heart might still be in San Francisco and San Francisco is definitely in their bike:

This bike requires expensive tires, unless you use retreads:

I imagine I’d be wearing a helmet too if I were backwards on this huge bike:

Chopper bikes are cool… if you are about 12:

Romeo might have liked this bike, but I’m not sure about the modern day purpose:

Here’s a bonus, if you get thirsty while riding:

Five for Friday – Lunch Bag Art

When you were a kid, did you have to carry your lunch in a brown bag while all the other kids carried cool lunch boxes?  I was the nerdy kid that liked the school’s hot lunches, so I didn’t carry anything; but if I did, I would have preferred these lunch bags over a lunch box any day.  This dad creates a new lunch bag for his kids each day (Dana and Dylan are lucky kids):

My personal favorite:

Who doesn’t love the Beatles?:

Josie and The Pussycats (long tails and ears that match – or something like that):

Hello Kitty:

Pterodactyl for lunch – mmm good!:

and a (new) bonus for Sanity Found:

Five for Friday – Motorcycles Watches

Have you ever wondered where watches go when they die?  Here is a unique recycling art project utilizing watches:

Five for Friday – Pavement Art

I like art – even when I don’t understand it.  I’m the everyman critic – “I don’t know what’s good, but I know what I like.”  With that in mind, here is a different type of art (think of Bert in the Mary Poppins movie):

1. This appears refreshing:

2. I like the way the artist included some bricks into this work by leaving them blank:

3. On top of the world:

4. or France:

5. This looks like fun:

As a bonus, a couple that display the creative process:

Five for Friday – Halloween “Trick or Treat” Dogs

Knowing that many of you have animal friends, I thought I’d share these photos of Halloween “Trick or Treat” Dogs with you:

Yoda Lives:

You can see the excitement written all over this poor dogs face (I’m getting goosebumps):

Hot Dog!:

Now, this group is actually frightening:

Five for Friday – Top Trick or Treat… Treats

If you haven’t completed your candy shopping for halloween, here are the top five suggestions for halloween candy, brought to you by Bnet:

Sour Candy.  The favorite of little guys and ghouls.  As Bnet says, “The more the face puckers, the better.”  Kids like the weird shapes.

Sour Gummy Worms

Snickers or any other kind of candy bar – chocolate is top choice, full-sized is most desired.

Oh, yeah! King Size.

Novelty Candy, or candy with a toy.  Lollipops with plastic-bug centers and finger boards filled with candy are top choices.

Halloween heads filled with powdered candy

Sugar-Free Candy.  Sales are up 12%.  Click on the photo to link to a place where you can find your favorite candies in sugar-free form.

Assorted Bags of chocolate miniatures, lollipops and hard candyBnet has obviously never been to my neighborhood.  Fun size is not fun.  My neighborhood kids would think this was a trick.

You must be desperate, uncreative, or cheap (like me).

Five for Friday – The Top “Scary” Songs for Halloween

It’s October, thus it’s time for some frightening fun.  Pop Culture Madness offers its visitors an opportunity to vote on top stuff.  Here is the Scariest Pop Music of All Time (as determined by visitors to Pop Culture Madness) – these are the top five songs, but the complete list is at the end of this post or you can click here:

The Monster Mash by Bobby “Boris” Pickett and the Cryptkickers – lot’s of fun!

Haunted House by Jumpin’ Gene Simmons (not the one from KISS).

Thriller by Michael Jackson.  More a film than a video, but very well done with top talent (and great dancing) - this was made before Jacko became so wacko.

Ghost Busters by Ray Parker, Jr.  A fun video with lots of cameos of people who were popular at the time.

Ghostriders in the Sky by The Ramrods.  No lyrics with this version, but the video has Clint Eastwood – a must for anything to do with country.

The complete list (Frankenstein and Psycho Killer should have been ranked higher.  Spooky at #9? – I don’t think so):
