I like book lists, but as the fellas from Monty Python might say, “…and now for something completely different!” Well, not completely different, but how about a list of where you can find libraries – online!
How about a list of 100 Online Libraries (from around the world) that anyone can access?
College Degree dot Com offers a pretty good list and has it broken into (somewhat) helpful categories. Here are the categories with a few of the listed libraries:
- Digital Libraries (including Harvard, Yale, and Ohio State - there you go Stacy Buckeye!)
- International Digital Libraries (including Cambridge and Nagoya Universities)
- Texts (including Oxford, University of Chicago, and Carrie - just don’t take her to the prom)
- Medical Libraries (including University of Texas, Duke, and Tufts)
- Legal Libraries (including UCLA, Emory, and Cornell)
- National Libraries of Europe (including Copenhagen, Iceland, and Slovenia)
- Religious Studies (including BYU, Vanderbilt, Catholic University and American Jewish University - something for almost everyone)
- Specialized Selections (including UN University and UM Human Rights Library)
- Academic Research (including Project Euclid and Southwestern Writer’s Collection)
- American Universities (including Texas, Princeton, and Nevada-Reno)
- International Universities (including the universities at Edinburgh, Dublin, Sorbonne, and Catalonia)
There are many (believe me, many) more. Go check in!
