Miss Sister 2008 – The Update

According to MSNBC, the Miss Sister 2008 contest will not be held after all.

“My superiors were not happy. The local bishop was not happy, but they did not understand me either,” said Father Antonio Rungi to Reuters on Tuesday.

One might have thought he would have checked with them first.

I still like Sister Julie’s idea of an athletic competition (click on the photo below to view an interesting book).

  1. I came here looking for porn. Where is it?

    (Aren’t I funny?)

Well, I feel kinda bad for the priest. I’m sure his heart was in the right place…even if it was a little oddball.

Maybe Sister Julie’s idea will take off!

Cracking me up, you are (think Yoda).

  2. I think this whole thing is absolutely hilarious. First, I couldn’t think of anything short of porn that would be less antithetical to taking vows than a beauty contest. Second, that your post about this contest would boost your hits sky high. What I find interesting is how you can put blood, sweat and tears into a post only to hear the crickets chirp. On the other hand, you can post about other things and the world comes to your door. I’m just happy to say that I was here before the convent’s bathing suit contest. 😉

It’s funny (to me) – And, yes, you have been here from the beginning.
I really began to blog with the idea to just get some of my thoughts written down. I had tried to do so (previously) by just using my computer, but found that I wasn’t disciplined enough to be consistent. Through this particular “social network” system, I have made some friends (like you) who actually pay attention to what I’m writing, make comments, and worry about me if I don’t have time to post for a day or so. Thus, I’m more disciplined to write something each day.
As I said previously, I’m just happy to have this quiet little blog that gets a few visits each day and some new friends who have become regular commentors. So I was taken by surprise by the number of visits on that one post – particularly when there were so few comments (proportionately). Although it was kind of fun to see the number go so high, I began to feel like I had done something to “sell out” (my “hippy-child of the 60s attitude” coming back for a visit) – hence the whole, This is Not Porn thing.
I like your blog and enjoy reading what you have to say. Thanks for hanging around.

  3. I can not believe that some one did not understand a priest thinking “outside the box”

Catholosism is all about THE BOX.

    STAY IN THE BOX!!!

Getting outside the box is probably a venial sin. Not nearly as bad as a mortal sin.

So what happens now to all of the nuns who were getting ready for their debute?

Sister Julie has some suggestions. Go to her blog: http://anunslife.org/2008/08/26/3-on-3-basketball-nun/
