Some Picks from Our September Conversations

I’m a little slow getting this published…

September was a busy month.  There was a post on Don’stuff nearly every day.  Many of you were kind enough to read and comment.

The month started with books (Alex Award Winning Books for Mature Teenagers, then Teen Books that Adults will Love) and ended with chocolate (Ten Things You Should Know about Chocolate).

You liked reading about Sarah Palin (The Times story about her kill on Bullwinkle was the top read of the month), stories about her comprised five of the top fifteen you read.

Since it was such a busy month, and since summarizing would virtually recreate all the posts, I’ll instead present a few picks:

Top Picks of September 2008

Top Picks of September 2008

The picks begin with the Most Comments during the month, Leaving Evangeline:

Almost Finally, thank you to David and Tonya for playing along – even though they don’t have a blog.  They are the only people I communicate with on this blog that I actually see (we live about a half a mile apart).

Thank you to all of you for joining in on the fun.

Finally, this is for Sanity Found (the original Cookie Gangsta), Amber, Lindsey, and all others who comment regularly on cookies:

  1. lol she is so the original cookie gangsta! You got her down pat! Really cute Don. 🙂 I loved the chocolate post….

    You are kind.

  2. You can pick your nose.

    You can pick your friends.

But can’t pick your friend’s nose.

The guy on the roller coaster…. the one behind the guy hurling… is he opening his mouth to catch and recycle?

And you can’t roll your friend into a little ball and wipe him under the couch.
This is always my fear when I ride rollercoasters or those pirate ship things that swing like a pendulum while you are facing each other. Yuck.

  3. Damn, Don, how do you think up these pithy things? Oh, I get it–it’s because you’re a perfesser, so you have to be kind of smart, huh?

I’m going to have to read all the aforementioned things I missed, like the deja-vu one. Ewwwww!

I saw a little girl at a restaurant once who was picking her little sister’s nose and snacking on the crunchy goodness. Very appetizing! So, you may not be able to pick your friend’s nose, but a sibling is another matter altogether!

You are the funny and creative one. I’m just trying to keep up. I spent many years with middle schoolers, so I kind of have that kind of mindset.
Do you know the difference between boogers and broccoli? … Little kids won’t eat broccoli. (Yeah, I went there).

  4. lol Don…. kids wont eat broccoli… thats just nasty… true but oh so nasty!

That’s just how my sense of humor works. Thanks.

  5. Gross with all the booger talk! (Except I think it’s funny too).

So, I’m torn. On one hand I’m honored to be the most frequent commenter. On the other hand, I think it speaks loudly to my lack of social life.

Truth is, I just really like your blog and I think you always have comment provoking posts! (And I tend to talk/write way too much anyhow).

So, in a long and rambling way, I’m trying to say thanks for the shout-out!

I always think your comments are great. I’m happy to be provoking your comments.

  6. Thanks for the cake! Is it chocolate?

    Dark – ten ounces worth.

  7. Thanks Don, and Keep it coming 🙂 Love your blog

I’ll try to make it through at least another month (or two… maybe three…)
    Thanks for being kind.

  8. OMG I am in LURV with that video – naturally I am having cookies I stole from Lindsey for breakfast, this time I am not kidding either lol!

Gross re broceboli that stuff is mean! Thanks for the shout out!

I thought you might like it. You might also like broccoli cookies?

  9. Eeeeew gross you! *goes off to eat more chocolate* that was just mean!

    Chocolate covered broccoli?
